- Log in to x.com
- Click More (…) in the left sidebar
- Select Settings and privacy
- Click Your account
- Click Deactivate your account
- Read the info, enter your password, and confirm
On Mobile App (iOS/Android)
- Open the X app and tap your profile picture
- Tap Settings and privacy
- Tap Your account
- Tap Deactivate your account
- Read the information, enter password, and confirm
After deactivation: Do NOT log in for 30 days. Your account will be permanently deleted automatically.
How to Recover a Deactivated Account
You have 30 days from deactivation to recover your account:
- Go to x.com or open the app
- Log in with your username/email and password
- Your account will be restored instantly
