How to Permanently Delete Your X Account

On Desktop/Web

  1. Log in to x.com
  2. Click More (…) in the left sidebar
  3. Select Settings and privacy
  4. Click Your account
  5. Click Deactivate your account
  6. Read the info, enter your password, and confirm

On Mobile App (iOS/Android)

  1. Open the X app and tap your profile picture
  2. Tap Settings and privacy
  3. Tap Your account
  4. Tap Deactivate your account
  5. Read the information, enter password, and confirm

After deactivation: Do NOT log in for 30 days. Your account will be permanently deleted automatically.

How to Recover a Deactivated Account

You have 30 days from deactivation to recover your account:

  1. Go to x.com or open the app
  2. Log in with your username/email and password
  3. Your account will be restored instantly

How to Download Your X Data Archive

Do this before deactivating!

  1. Settings and privacy → Your account
  2. Click Download an archive of your data
  3. Verify your identity (password + possible code)
  4. Click Request archive
  5. Wait for email notification (24 hours or more)
  6. Download the ZIP file
